Farming for mental health and Trauma Recovery

Open Door Foundation is a women's shelter located in the centre of Bucharest. This organisation rescues women and girls who have been victims of trafficking, and supplies them with high quality therapy including trauma work for at least 18 months after the rescue to ensure that their mental health is improving and that they feel supported. The organisation also pays for the court prosecution of their perpetrators - with all court cases having successful outcomes, bringing justice into the world, and to all women and girls who have suffered. Open Door Foundation also offers support in the form of helping the women to learn new skills. This organisation sees the value in farming for mental health and rehabilitation, and they would like to buy farmland outside of Bucharest where they can create a biodynamic farm for the women in rehabilitation to work on therapeutically, as being in nature and working with animals and plants is incredibly therapeutic. This farm will also serve as a home indefinitely for those women whose trauma is so deep that they are not be able to function in a "normal" city life.
